Non-Contested Divorce

One spouse retains an attorney who represents ONLY that spouse. Husband and wife must decide how to divide the property, debts, and custody, if there are minor children involved. The attorney drafts the necessary documents to file with the court and represents one spouse at the hearing.

  COSTS: Initial Conference Pay at end of session
1. Open file and gather information for drafting filing documents 1.5 hrs
2. Draft Petition, Statement of Income & Expenses, Statement of Property, Form 14, Parenting Plan, Certificate of Divorce and Filing Certificate 5.0 hrs
3. Phone calls with client (varies depending upon how many times client calls with questions)
1.0 hr
4. File at Courthouse 0.8 hr
5. Draft Separation Agreement 4.0 hrs
6. Draft Documents for Hearing (including Decree, QMCSO, etc.) 2.0 hrs
7. Set up hearing 1.0 hr
8. Represent Client at Final Divorce Hearing
(Or prepare documents for “divorce by affidavit”.)
1.0 hr
  Total Hours: 16.3 hrs
 

COST: APPROXIMATELY $3,000.00* ( 16.3 hours x billing rate of person
performing the work. See Rate Sheet )

*plus the filing fee at the courthouse which is usually approximately $250.00
