Regina L.L. Wells
Regina devotes her practice to representing both men and women involved in family law litigation, including paternity, dissolution/legal separation, child support and custody, modifications, appeals, and administrative child support cases.
Regina received her A.B. from Washington University (St. Louis) in English Literature in 1997 and her J.D. from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law in 2000. Regina was a civil litigator in class actions, toxic torts, and mass torts, practicing in federal and state courts in Missouri and Illinois before leaving to practice family law.
I have been litigating for ten years, beginning in complex commercial litigation. My experience spans all phases of litigation, including extensive trial and hearing practice. That experience has not only taught me the fundamentals of practicing law, but has also taught me the different approaches that an attorney must master to effectively represent any client in family court, an emotionally charged, subjective, and foreign world. Each case and each client are different. I can never promise results, but I know that I can advocate for my client in a way that either affects those results positively or negatively. Some client’s representation can be achieved in a collaborative and cooperative manner, reducing the unnecessary costs of fighting for fighting’s sake. Some cases require ferocity to advocate for equitable results when the client is unable to fight. As important as understanding the law is understanding what a particular client or case requires and adapting to that need. Anything less is a disservice to the client. I approach each client’s case from the same beginning point: How can I best educate and advocate for this client with the least cost?
